December Artists Salon

  • The Center for Fiction 15 Lafayette Avenue Brooklyn, NY, 11217 United States (map)

Join the fellows of The Workshop, North America’s first arts fellowship centering the work of JOCISM (Jews of Color, Jewish-Indigenous, Sephardi, and Mizrahi) artists and culture-makers, for an evening of art and culture, as they present works-in-progress that interrogate, dissect, provoke, subvert, and play with the many angles of hybridity.

First Generation: A Memoir

An excerpt from Chapter Two: Tales of the Bard. This chapter is a visual, poetic, and sometimes humorous retelling of a Black, Queer, Jewish man's Spring Break 2010 in the Dominican Republic with his toxic father.

Luis Roberto Burgos (he/him) is a Neurodiverse Earthling based on Lenape Land, colonially known as New York City. He learned how to question at Phillips Exeter Academy and how not to question at Bard College. His photography is often based in literature while his writing is visual and sensory.
